Really nice esp. for the price!
We needed seating/sleep space in an attic space that we turned into a shared music studio/spare bedroom. This futon was the perfect choice for a number of reasons. #1, its affordable, #2, it'll fit an adult sized sleeper (probably comfortable for someone up to 6 ft) unlike SOOO many other affordable futons that won't fit someone taller than 5'4", #3, the finishes on this futon make it look a lot more expensive than it was (the linen blend fabric and upholstered 'pottery barn' look).The futon feels solid and sturdy, it is firm when you sit/sleep on it.It is so easy to put together, just put the legs on.As far as the color- its gray, however grays (esp linen blend fabrics) always have different thread contrast colors, they're never just gray. This futon is primarily a lighter charcoal gray with an oatmeal colored contrast tone. Both hues are apparent, but the gray is definitely more prominent. I hope this helps, as identifying the true color of anything when purchasing online is always a bit of a guessing game.

Pretty Good
After looking at all the reviews on this couch I was a little hesitant in buying it. The matter of fact is, it's not a great couch, but it's not terrible. We sit on it and have had people sleep on it and lay down on it and no one has complained. The back part that can stay up straight, recline, or go all the way down into a bed position is really hard, but the reclining mechanism is great and easy and with a few throw pillows it's no big deal. The seat part is not nearly as hard, but it's not a "sink in" kind of soft either. It's also extremely easy to put together and it looks great, but it's a bit lower than expected. For a college student or apartment living it's a good couch and will do just fine, but if you have more money to spend or a bigger area I'd suggest getting something a little more high end.

Happy couchers
My husband and I live in a small 600 Sq foot house, we needed additional space when family came into town. Lo and behold wal mart came through. I was kinda iffy about the whole "futon" idea, but it has surprised me. I love the modern lines and it's actually pretty comfy! It's our main cough as well so the "firmness" will hopefully mean longer lasting. The bed fits both my husband and I (though we haven't actually slept on it) so that's another plus. The color is light grey, not taupe like others have suggested. Overall, it's a cute simple stylish couch that can occasionally be used for a bed, that's really all I was asking for :-)

Great couch for price... Some unmentioned details
My husband and I bought this couch for our first apartment. The price was great. It's comfortable to sit on. It doesn't look like a futon front the front at all. I read one review that said the material was scratchy, but it seems fine to me. It really looks great with our decor. It folds down easily.There were a few things I wish I would have known. The nail heads on the front are all connected, and it does look a bit cheap, in my opinion. Some black material can be seen in the back. There are also two zippers in the back to hide the legs that fold down to support the futon. I think from the back it is a bit unattractive. If it were up against a wall, most of those would of course not be an issue at all. I would say the color is for sure taupe, not the charcoal pictured.

Great so far!
We love the couch so far! It's only been a few weeks but it is comfy in the way that you don't sink down and get lost and has the appropriate firmness in my opinion. Add some cute throw pillows to have something to cuddle up to and as a futon, it is comfortable for guests and easy to assemble!
