    eh, could have been better

I had compared the Mac and Manhattan futon models and went with the Mac, based on customer reviews and the price difference. To me, the Manhattan looked like the Mac with pillows and an additional $100-ish price tag.First off, If you purchase the Mac and pick it up at the store, use a truck. I assumed the box would be more compact, like futons carried in the store, and I was wrong. Outside this initial concern, the futon looks nice; it appears very lush and stylish for the price. The tags are very prominent, and removing them pulled out some stitching, though sewing it back together wasn't difficult; only I will know it's there... hopefully.Unfortunately, the comfort is very below expectations. The frame is attached to the cushion, actually connecting through the bottom. Bars run through the left and right sides of the cushion, and can definitely be felt. The middle section of the futon is the most comfortable part, though it would be more accurate to say least uncomfortable.I don't have any experience with the Manhattan model, but if the construction is different, and this is the desired look and style, I would consider dropping the extra money and getting the Manhattan, or at least not the Mac. Your tailbone will thank you.

Very firm when used as a bed, slightly bigger than a twin bed.

Great Deal for a cheap price

This product is worth well more than it costs... It is basically the same thing as the manhatten lounger that sells for $400... It came fully assembled, all I had to screw in was the legs... The multi positioning is great and I would fully recommend..

    Not a good futon!

    Customer Rating

I purchased this futon as a Christmas present for my 13 year old daughter. Is is cute and modern but, not comfortable or sterdy. The mattress has split open along the stitching in the middle of the mattress allowing the frame to come through!! For only being 6 months old I am not impressed!! Would not recomment this product to anyone!!!!

    Sturdy But Uncomfortable

    Customer Rating

I would not recommend this as a sleeping unit.I purchased this to go in my teenage son's room. He's the size of a full grown man (5'10).Putting it together was the easy part since the only assembly required is to put the legs on.If you're going to use it as a couch, it's EXTREMELY firm. If you're going to use it as a bed/couch, that's a bad idea for any adult. It doesn't have a mattress. It has a cover that seals over a "click clack" sofa so the only padding is inside of steel bars. When laying on the unit, as a bed, you can feel the bars through the cover. We even tried to put an 2 inch foam insert between the cover and the couch, to soften it up and prevent feeling the steel, to no avail. If you want function and appearance, this is the sofa for you. If you want rest, stay away from it.Read more
